Platinum Jubilee

The boys have had a fantastic day! We enjoyed a street party lunch and competed in the coin mosaic challenge in the afternoon. The boys worked so well as a team and although we did not win, we thought ours was brilliant!

We hope you all have a restful half term break!

An update!

We have had a busy couple of weeks in Year 1!

This term our topic in Religious Studies is Judaism. We have been learning all about how Jewish people celebrate Shabbat. We were really lucky to have Mrs Smith and Mrs Young speak about how families spend time together on a Friday and rest on a Saturday. The boys were also able to try challah bread and grape juice, yum!

Last week was very special to Lochinver as the school celebrated its 75th birthday! The boys attended an assembly in the marquee held by Mr Walker and enjoyed a biscuit to finish!

An exciting week!

Although this week was short, there has been lots going on in 1R!

In our Art lesson this week, the boys worked very hard to finish creating their cereal box city. They had to draw from observation and practice cutting around a fine line, as well as colour within the lines. Here are some pictures of the boys hard at work!

Yesterday, we had some very exciting visitors – chicks! The boys were amazing and knew to stay calm, so that the chicks would not be scared. We were very excited to hold and stroke them. 🙂
