Describing Nature

This week in Welly Time the boys had lots of fun describing objects from nature using adjectives.

We went outside and collected leaves, twigs, feathers etc. The boys then glued them into their Welly Time scrap books and labeled them with adjectives.

English

In English each week we will be discovering different African stories. This week the boys enjoyed studying the story of ‘The Cross Crocodile’. They begun the week by writing sentences focusing on capital letters and full stops. The boys then learnt how to write a list. They wrote a list of all the animals in the story. 1A then learnt about adjectives and enjoyed describing different nouns, including each other!

 

Science ‘My Body’

The boys enjoyed their first Science lesson on Friday learning about our bodies. The boys had great We created a life size body to label. They also created their own funny bones skeletons and labelled each body part.

Welly Time – Planting

The boys last week learnt about the stages of planting seeds. We then went outside and planted some radish seeds. 1A water take it in turns to water the seeds each day. The boys were excited this week to see their plants are already growing!

 



Welcome to 1A a sweet new class :)

Welcome to 1A!

This week the boys had a wonderful start settling into their new classroom. They looked especially smart in their new School uniforms. The boys enjoyed seeing their friends and learning all about Year 1.

The 1A boys created a colourful cloakroom display each designing their own cupcake. They also had lots of fun using the technique pointillism to colour the map of Africa and collage to decorate our class lion.
