New Maths Challenges!

For the last two weeks, we have been focussing on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and multiplication.  This week, we have started learning about the inverse of multiplication, division.  Here are some multiplication questions to help you consolidate your understanding.  Good luck!

New Maths Challenges

For the last two weeks we have been focussing on money.  Here are some money challenges:

1. Change the following amounts of money from pence to pounds.  Here is an example:

200p = £2

210p = £2.10

Now try these:

400p   520p   750p

2. Mr Barth needed a new rugby ball.  The ball cost 70p but Mr Barth paid with a £1 coin.  How much change was he given?

3. Miss Giles wanted to buy a new camera.  The camera cost 85p.  Miss Giles paid with a £1 coin.  How much change did she receive?

4. Miss Fletcher wanted to buy a newspaper.  The newspaper cost £1.50 and Miss Fletcher gave the shopkeeper a £2 coin.  How much change was she given?

5. 65p + 20p =

6. 70p + 30p =

7. Find the sum of £1 and 50p

8. Find the sum of 90p and 20p
