Maths Challenges!

Before half term, you had fun measuring different objects and learning how to measure circumferences. Here are some questions to find out how much you know!
- Using a ruler, measure the length of your foot
- Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your waist
- How many centimetres are there in a metre?
- How many metres are there in a kilometre?
- If you were asked to measure a football field, would it be more sensible to use a ruler or a metre stick? Why?
- Draw 4 lines of different lengths. Using a ruler, measure the lines and record their lengths
- Centimetre is a long word! How do we abbreviate it? How do we abbreviate the word ‘kilometre’?
- How tall are you?

2. His waist – 57cm
3. 100cm = 1 metre
4. 1000m = 1 kilometre
5. A metre stick because it’s easier to add up the numbers
6. 8cm, 15cm, 20cm and 3cm lines
