Time flies when you are having fun

During Maths this week, the boys were learning to tell the time. The boys created their own clocks and they used them to tell the time to o’clock, half past and quarter past. We also practised the digital clock for o’clock and half past.

Today the boys enjoyed a 1 minute challenge! They timed each other to see how many jumps they could do in one minute. They also had to write their name as many times as they could, move beads into a bowl and stick as many cubes together in the given time. They now have a better understanding of how long a minute is.

In Science this week the boys continued to investigate forces. The boys created some wonderful kites and enjoyed discovering different things that move because of the wind.

The boys each made a special Christingle in the lead up to Christmas and learnt what the parts of the Christingle represented.

In Literacy the boys wrote a letter to Santa making a wish for the world. They used their letter writing skills that they have practised throughout the week. They now understand the layout of a letter. You should all receive a surprise this week in the post from the boys!

This week the boys were using watercolors, as well as using water to dye paper with crepe paper as the first step to create their Christmas cards.
