Lochy’s 500 word story

Alien Adventure by Lochy
I went to the shops with my brothers, Charlie and Jack. We looked at the newspapers and got a shock! On the front page there was a picture of a spaceship crashing. There were funny aliens coming out of it. They were green and on their heads were long sticks with pom poms on. These were their googly eyes. I thought the pictures were fake but when we came out of the shop we saw signs everywhere saying, ‘Danger! Alien invasion!’. We raced back home as fast as we could and locked the door.

I looked outside my window and saw one small alien hiding in the bushes in my garden. I said, ‘Shoo! Go away!’. He cried and whispered to me, ‘I’m a friendly alien, I’ve lost my spaceship and my family. Please let me stay with you’. I felt sorry for him and told him of course he could stay with me, my brothers and my kittens, Amber and Ruby. I asked him his name and told me it was ‘Googly Ears’. I invited him into my house and we played ‘It’. Googly Ears was very good at that game. My kittens followed him around the house and licked his green, smooth skin. I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He wanted a jam and mustard sandwich. Yuk! He gobbled up 2 sandwiches.

I took him to the playground. He loved the slide, swings and most of all he liked the roundabout. He spent 2 hours on the roundabout without getting dizzy. Aliens are used to flying in circles fast, it was like a mini spaceship for him.

We were tired and decided to go home. I turned on the television, Googly Ears said it was like the bong-bong on his spaceship. I asked him what that was, he said it was how they talk to other aliens to warn them of danger. A news flash came on to say the aliens had disappeared, probably turned into clouds. Googly Ears wasn’t sad because they hadn’t been kind to him and he was happy to stay with me.

The door opened and mum came in, she was surprised to see Googly Ears. I told her he was my friend and asked if he could stay in my room. Mum didn’t seem to mind, we had never had an alien stay before. She put some blankets on the floor for him and he snuggled up with my kittens. He told me stories about a cheese monster attacking his planet and how he had to defend it. I told him stories about cavemen, knights, dragons and other species. We knew we were going to be friends forever so we planned other adventures together and settled down to sleep.

My 500 word story by William

Trent Park & Playing at Home

One day I went to Trent Park with mummy daddy and mummy’s friends dog Louis the pug.

When we got to the park Louis wanted to run off into the woods. I held him tight on the lead and then let him off the lead. Louis ran into the park. Louis went into a big puddle and I also jumped into the puddle.

All of a sudden my foot got stuck and I fell back. Splash!! All my bottom was wet.

Oh dear I was very wet and muddy.

Louis sat beside me and just watched. Mummy said Oh dear that isn’t very good.

As daddy pulled me up my boots were all squelchy, mummy walked back to the car to get me some clean clothes.

We then went into the play area. I played on the climbing frame and the climbing wall with my daddy.

Then we all went for a hot chocolate before going home. Louis had some water in a bowl beside me.

As we walked back to the car mummy gave me a towel to wrap around Louis as he was muddy. Louis jumped into the car and sat beside me.

When we got home mummy carried Louis upstairs and run the bath. We put Louis in the bath and covered him in bubble bath he wriggled about a bit but he did like it.

Mummy lifted him out and wrapped him in a clean towel. I helped to dry him down.

Then while mummy was making dinner Louis and I played hide and seek. I hid in my camper van tent and Louis came running after me he smelt of bubble bath and his coat was all nice and fluffy.

I then got Louis’s ball and started to throw that to him he was very good he ran to get it and brought it back to me.

Mummy and daddy called us for dinner. Louis had the same as us. Roast Gammon potatoes, peas and carrots with gravy. Louis didn’t like the vegetables but liked the Gammon and some of the potatoes. Desert was cheesecake.

After dinner Louis and I went into my play room to have a play. Louis sat and watched me building some Lego.

Then mummy said let’s take Louis for a quick walk before he goes home. We went up the road and I picked a stick up for Louis and threw it for him. I was running around with him, this time I made sure I didn’t jump and fall into any puddles.

As we were walking home I thought, it’s been a nice day today looking after Louis maybe one day I might have a dog.

Louis’s mummy Melissa arrived to take him home. We said bye see you soon, and then it was time for bed. After my bath mummy daddy and I sat on the bed for story time. I said to mummy and daddy can we look after Louis again and they said yes of course.

BBC 500 word story by Lucas F – How I Lost My Tooth

How I Lost My Tooth

It was half term and I was going to France with my family to visit my Nanny and Papi. They live in the south of France near Perpignan. The journey was great I love going on aeroplanes.

A couple of days into our holiday Mummy and Daddy took me and my brother Zachary to visit the fortress city, Carcassonne. It’s not far from my Nanny’s house, I was very excited to go and see the city and castle. I had been reading lots about castles and knights recently.

It was a bright cold day but when we arrived in Carcassonne it looked like a storm was coming. The sky was turning dark and I could hear thunder rumbling in the distance. The castle looked amazing, the walls were so high. Daddy bought us a wooden sword and shield, we had great fun pretending to be knights. We climbed up onto the battlements and had a pretend battle, I felt like a real knight!

Mummy called us to come back, Zachary ran on ahead but I noticed a doorway and turned to see what was inside. Suddenly there was a flash of lightning that made me close my eyes, when I opened them everything looked different. I was wearing a full suit of armour! A voice called out my name, ‘Squire Lucas, come and get ready for jousting practice’. I was very confused, had I gone back in time?

Some other boys dressed in armour told me to hurry up and I followed them outside to a courtyard. There were lots of horses and knights. Wow we were squires, real knights in training! The knights taught us how to joust, it was so exciting that I forgot all about the time. I began to wonder where my family were. I turned to look around and one of the other squires accidently bumped into me and knocked my front tooth out! I felt dizzy and when I opened my eyes all the knights and squires had gone. I could hear Mummy calling me, I ran over to join my family. They were all very happy to see me, I smiled up at my mum who shouted with surprise ‘Oh what happened to your tooth Lucas!’  I laughed and told her all about how I had gone back in time and had a jousting lesson with real knights. Mummy thought it all sounded very interesting but said we should go and find my missing tooth! I took my family back to the doorway I had found earlier but the door was locked. It’s a mystery I thought. Mummy pointed down at the ground and said ‘what’s that’. I looked down and saw my tooth lying next to a shield. It was the shield I had used in training with the real knights, mummy had to believe me now!

Wow said mummy, what an adventure you have had today Lucas. Real knights and a missing tooth, time to go home I think.

Animal Riddles

In our writing lesson this week the boys have been writing sets of clues about a polar animal of their choice! They produced some wonderful clues and illustrations of the animals.

In Millie’s challenge the boys had to decide in their team what animal (any animal in the whole wide world) they were going to describe for Millie and Mrs Alton to guess!

See the photo’s below. Read the clues and see if you can guess the animal they are describing!

BBC 500 word story entry by Jesse

“MAN OF THE MATCH”

It was a bright sunny Sunday morning and my brothers football team Southgate Park Rangers were playing their biggest rivals Southgate Athletic.

My dad set off early to get my brother to the game and my mum and I decided we would leave a little later and meet them there.

When we got to the park I noticed my brother waving his arm at me “Jesse…. Jesse…. we only have 10 players!!  We’ll easily get beaten if we don’t find another player.  Could you help us?”  I couldn’t believe it.  I’d only ever played football in the garden with my brother, never with a proper team.  I knew I’d be the smallest kid on the pitch but I said yes.  My brother’s football manager struggled to find me a shirt that fitted – it was down to my knees.  When I walked onto the pitch the other team laughed at me.  “Look at that kid. He’s tiny. We’re going to smash them today”.  I felt really nervous.

The referee blew his whistle and the game began.   The game was tough.  Both sides fought really hard.  There were lots of hard challenges and sliding tackles but we managed to keep the score nil nil until with just 10 minutes to go, the other team scored!  Oh no I thought, they can’t win!  “Jesse! Go up front for the last 10 minutes” screamed the manager. With 1 minute to go I finally found my chance, I snapped a loose ball and dribbled through the legs of a player in front of me. From 20 yards out I knew it would take a miracle to score but I just hit it as hard as I could. It swerved through the air, past the defenders, and straight into the top right corner. I’d scored the equalizer! It then seemed like slow motion as my brother and his team mates surrounded me as I celebrated. It felt amazing. Then after just a few more seconds the ref blew the final whistle. We’d drawn the game and I scored the goal.

“Thanks Jesse” said the manager “We’d have really struggled to get anything from that game without your help”. Everybody agreed that I’d been man of the match and as I walked away from the park I could hear the players singing “Jesse. Jesse. Jesse”.

“Jesse. Jesse! Are you awake?” said mum “it’s time to get ready for school”. “I just had the most wonderful dream mum. I dreamt I scored a goal for Max’s team”.

“One day Jesse. Maybe one day” said mum.

We discovered that plastic was the best material for teddy’s boat because it was waterproof. The felt and card got so wet that teddy sank.
